A young Charles Dickens attempts to deal with his grief after the loss of his sister in law Mary. Visited nightly by her haunting image, Dickens struggles to sleep. This causes him to lose focus on his work. Inadvertently, he begins to ignore those around him including his grieving wife Catherine and whilst she longs for his understanding and love, Charles begins to ponder over his own feelings for the deceased Mary
